Behind Girly Gig Army is a small but passionate team dedicated to helping women connect through live music, friendship and shared experiences.
What started as a simple idea has quickly grown into a thriving community, and none of it would be possible without the people working behind the scenes to support our members and events.
Lucy Havard
Founder
Lucy founded Girly Gig Army after realising how many women were missing out on gigs, festivals and social events simply because they didn’t have someone to go with.
What began as a small Facebook group has grown into a vibrant community of women. With members across Sussex, Kent and now London; who are building friendships, confidence and unforgettable memories through live music.
Lucy is responsible for the overall vision, partnerships, events and continued growth of Girly Gig Army.
KAREN BIRD
Co-Founder
Karen helps to ensure every member feels welcomed, supported and included within the Girly Gig Army community.
Working closely with Lucy, she assists member engagement, community support and helping new members find their feet as they begin their GGA journey.
Karen in passionate about creating a friendly and supportive environment where women can connect, make friends and enjoy live music together.

Hastings & Rother Ambassador
Tasha is a born-and-bred Hastings girl, now living in West St Leonards, with a huge passion for music and bringing people together.
She loves helping women make new connections, build friendships and create brilliant memories through shared experiences and live music.
Having already met some wonderful women through local Girly Gig Army meet-ups, Tasha is excited to help the Hastings & Bexhill community grow and is looking forward to many more nights of music, laughter and dancing together. 🩷
CAROLINE WRIGHT
Eastbourne Ambassador
Caroline has been part of Girly Gig Army almost from the very beginning and was one of the original ladies who first came along to Lucy’s house when the community was just getting started.
Bright, energetic and always up for a laugh, Caroline is a regular at events and has been an enthusiastic supporter of Girly Gig Army ever since. She is naturally welcoming, will happily look out for new members and has a brilliant way of making people feel part of things.
Caroline brings fun wherever she goes — usually accompanied by plenty of laughter, dancing and, if there happens to be a pole nearby, an almost irresistible urge to make use of it! She is one of those people who can lift the atmosphere of an event simply by being there. 🩷

Jo believes a community of women can become a real tribe — a safe space built around shared identity, friendship and fun.
What she loves about Girly Gig Army is that everyone is equally empowered to suggest the gigs, events and experiences they’d love to enjoy, creating a genuinely community-led space where responsibility and ideas are shared.
For Jo, women are brilliant at building supportive, egalitarian communities — and at creating opportunities to have fun together.

ANITA FRANKLYN
Eastbourne Ambassador & Moderator
Anita is a mum to two grown-up daughters, Nana to two grandchildren and, now semi-retired, is making the most of having more time for the things she loves.
A huge live music fan and self-confessed Stereophonics superfan, Anita also loves 80s music, socialising and dancing — and is rarely happier than when there’s good music and good company involved.
As an Eastbourne Ambassador and Moderator, Anita brings her warmth and enthusiasm to the Girly Gig Army community and loves helping women connect, make new friends and enjoy more great nights out together.

Ann has spent many years working in events and music and loves the magic that happens when great music brings people together.
After many years living in London, she returned to the coast and discovered Girly Gig Army through Karen. She loved the idea straight away — a community where women can make new friendships, find their gig buddies and never have to miss out simply because they have nobody to go with.
As Hastings & Rother Ambassador alongside Tasha, Ann is passionate about growing a fun, warm and inclusive local community, bringing women together for live music, laughter, dancing and plenty of new adventures. 🩷

Tracy loves music, dancing and the theatre, and after moving to Eastbourne in the last couple of years, she spotted Girly Gig Army beginning to take shape and knew straight away that she wanted to be part of it.
For her, GGA is a brilliant way for like-minded women to come together, make connections and simply have fun — whether that’s at a gig, on the dance floor or enjoying a great night out together.

Lou loves music, socialising and the simple pleasure of getting a group of women together for a great night out.
She believes live music is even better when it’s shared, and loves the idea of Girly Gig Army giving women an easy way to meet new people, find company for events and enjoy experiences they might otherwise have missed.
As West Sussex Ambassador, Lou is looking forward to bringing local women together for music, friendship, laughter and plenty of fun along the way.

When I left my husband nearly four years ago, one of the things I missed most was going to gigs and having a dance. I’m probably one of the oldest GGA members, but I also love fancy dress, a little tipple 🤪 and, most importantly, having a good laugh!
I’m always happy to meet up for a cuppa and a natter too, especially with anyone who might be feeling a bit nervous about going to their first gig. Sometimes it’s just nice to break the ice beforehand and know there’ll be a friendly face waiting for you.
I’m really looking forward to meeting lots of new faces soon.

Michelle has a real passion for music and loves an eclectic mix of pop, rock, indie, blues, Motown, soul, jazz-funk and a little jazz too. Her happy places are concerts, gigs and festivals, and away from music she also enjoys walking, travelling and animals.
She loves the way music brings people together and creates that shared buzz and connection you only really get from experiencing it with others.
For Michelle, Girly Gig Army is about new friendships, great conversations, shared memories, plenty of laughter and enjoying all of those brilliant moments along the way. ❤️

Sarah has lived in Eastbourne since 2018 and has always loved live music, although over the years she often found herself missing out simply because she didn’t have anyone to go with.
After one of her best friends sent her a link to Girly Gig Army, Sarah admits she was a little nervous at first — but it didn’t take long for her to become completely hooked on the growing community.
Since joining, Sarah says GGA has changed her life in so many positive ways. She has grown in confidence, made new friendships and even started hosting events herself.
Music is Sarah’s happy place, and she loves being able to share that passion with other women while helping them find the confidence, company and friendships to get out and enjoy more of what they love. 🩷
